About the Venue–Wyndham Rio Mar Resort

The Wyndham Rio Mar Resort is a smoke-free hotel that offers a wonderful family environment and activities for all interests. It features one mile of white sandy beach; two championship golf courses, putting green and driving range; 13 tennis courts; Mandra Spa; an extensive health club; nature trails; casinos; and an array of exciting water sports including jet skiing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.

Accommodations

You are encouraged to make plans early to attend the meeting in Puerto Rico. In contrast to clusters of hotels available at meetings held in large cities, the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort is a 500-acre property and there are no other hotels in close proximity.

Meeting Rate

The meeting rate is $167 for single/double occupancy, inclusive of the resort fee.

Student Rate

There are a limited number of rooms that have been set aside for students at a reduced rate of $120, inclusive of the resort fee.

Government Rate

There are no government room rates for this meeting since the meeting rate is less than the government rate for this venue.

Reservation Deadlines and Requirements

You must reserve your room prior to May 15. All rates are subject to applicable taxes, currently 11%. The room rates are based on single/double occupancy, if there will be a third person in your room, there is an additional charge of $40 per night plus tax, there is no charge for children under 18 years occupying the same room as their parents. The rates are inclusive of a $15 resort fee that will be charged to each guest room. The resort fee provides in room coffee; toll-free long-distance and local calls (long distant toll calls are not included); internal resort transportation; 10% off spa services at Mandara Spa; and unlimited use of the health club, beach chairs and towels.

Reservations can be made by calling toll free (866) 624-7926 or direct (787) 657-1148 and telling the reservation office that you are a Teratology Society meeting participant, or by reserving a room on-line. (The on-line reservation site is being constructed and will be available soon). It is the policy of the Wyndham Rio Mar to charge a 2 night deposit when the reservation is made.

Wheelchair accessible rooms are available. Persons with special needs should inform the hotel when making reservations. Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 NOON. There are fees associated with checking out late. Please discuss any late check out arrangements you might need when making your reservation or when you check into the hotel. The Wyndham Rio Mar Resort has a four day advance cancellation policy.
