FDA Transparency Task Force - FDA Blog Available through November

On June 2, 2009, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) established the Transparency Task Force to develop recommendations for making FDA processes and decision making more transparent to the public. The Task Force held its first meeting on June 24, 2009; and during that meeting, the public was asked to give their opinion on how to increase the transparency of FDA activities.

To assist in collecting comments and opinions, the Task Force will post questions on a new FDA blog, which previewed in June. The purpose of the Transparency Blog is to provide a forum for discussing various ways in which FDA could provide information to the public about what it is doing, the basis for FDA decisions, and the processes used to make those decisions. The blog will include highlights and comments made during the meeting and will encourage additional feedback from FDA audiences. The blog is expected to run for six months (June through November 2009).

You can post comments to the FDA Transparency Blog available at http://fdatransparencyblog.fda.gov/. The Transparency Task Force plans on holding a second public meeting in the fall of 2009. The meeting will be announced in the Federal Register.
