Job Description:
This position serves as Study Director/Monitor for pre-clinical reproductive, developmental and general toxicology studies conducted in-house and/or at contract facilities.
Study Director and/or Study Monitor for in-house and/or contracted preclinical toxicology and investigational studies.
Design and conduct pre-clinical reproductive, developmental and general toxicology and investigational studies to meet specific departmental and Project team goals and regulatory requirements.
As Study Director, accountable for all aspects of the conduct of the study, including protocol development, GLP and SOP compliance, evaluation and interpretation of antemortem results, and the writing and issuance of the final report. Responsible for interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaboration in acquisition and evaluation of study materials, coordination of all study activities, and in interpretation and reporting of results.
As Study Monitor, responsible for scientific monitoring (team and individual site visits and telephone liaison), consultation and advisement in study design, conduct, evaluation and reporting. Responsible for coordination of contract laboratory activities with other SPRI departments.
The individual will serve as Study Director and provides scientific expertise and input for regulatory documents, and plans investigative programs. May represent Drug Safety and Metabolism on project team working groups and/or ad hoc committees providing scientific expertise.
Skills/Requirements:
This position requires a Ph.D., or equivalent in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related biological sciences as well as a minimum of 4-6 years in the conduct of toxicology studies or research related to toxicology.
Also, completion of post-doctoral training in toxicology, development, or reproductive biology.
Previous Project Team and drug development experience also desired.
Candidate must also have excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills including the ability to solve complex problems
Experience in a GLP environment strongly desired
